Websearch

A many-legged aqua crawler that laps the whole web before breakfast. It is out the window before the question finishes, and it does not come home without sources.
- in practice
Native web access through web_search and webfetch — keyless providers work out of the box, 19 total, an auto-selecting chain that keeps trying until one answers.
A persistent web results store answers repeats from disk while fresh, revalidates by ETag (a 304 means the page never changed), serves stale answers instantly — marked — while a background refresh restores them, and keeps the last good answer — flagged stale — when every provider fails.
Benchmarked with committed receipts: the dashboard's 8-second store poll dropped from a 49.9 ms disk scan to 0.003 ms answered from memory, and repeat hits answer ~200× faster through a bounded hot-entry memo.
